    Nov 22,2022 | YAOAWE

If you have a Kozi pellet stove, do you experience breakdowns when using it? Here we list the most common problems about Kozi pellet stoves and will find a quick and effective solution for each problem.

Pellet Stove Not Lighting Or Taking So Long To Light

It is the most typical problem in the Kozi pellet stove.  The causes of the problem are:

    • No pellet fuel. Insufficient fuel supply
    • Dirty burn pot, a lack of airflow
    • Blown fuse
    • Slipped-out igniter from the igniter tube lead pellet not lighting
    • Igniter has failed
    • No power to igniter

    How To Fix:

    • Verify whether there is a fluent power supply to the unit. If needed, replace the control board.
    • Verify that there is sufficient fuel in the hopper and that the heater has run for long enough to fill the auger tube.
    • Verify that the auger has not jammed. Occasionally, fuel can become lodged in the auger and prevent the augers proper operation.
    • Check and remove debris from the burner port properly.
    • Verify that the fuse (if equipped) has not blown. If blown, replace the fuse.
    • Push igniter back into place. Make sure the igniter is in its’ correct place.
    • Verify for power at the igniter, If the igniter is defective, you must Replace Igniter.

    Pellet Stove Won't Turn Off

    • Exhaust fan thermal disk has failed
    • Stove in "Cool Down" mode
    • Control board has failed

    • Reset your pellet fuel stove. Open the side of the stove. You will see a manual reset button on the back of the combustion chamber. Press the button, and your stove will shut off.
    • Check the exhaust fan thermal disc. If there is any defect, replace it.
    • Check the control board. Ensure all the wires are tightened and well-working order. If needed, you have to replace the stove’s control board.

    • Auger jam
    • Auger motor has failed

    How To Fix:

    • Check the hopper to see whether there is sufficient pellet to burn, fill hopper with fuel.
    • Empty hopper and clean out auger. Clean the auger periodically to keep your pellet stove well working
    • Verify that the exhaust fan is in good working condition. replace the Exhaust fan thermal disk as necessary.
    • Check and inspect the auger motor.  If there is a fault, replace it.

Pellet Stove Augur Keeps Jamming Or Not Turning

    • Clogged auger and auger motor
    • Using improper-sized wood pellets
    • Too much pellet dust in the hopper
    • Specks of dust stuck in the bottom of the hopper

    How To Fix:

    • Use such high-quality pellets that ensure clean burning without smoking.
    • Remove all the dust from the hopper and fill it with pellets again.
    • Verify that the auger has not jammed. Open one of the side panels and grasp the auger motor. Move the auger motor back and forth. It may be difficult to move at first but should move relatively freely. If it will not move, empty the hopper and clean out the blockage of the auger and auger motor.
