How to Sync Your Masterbuilt Smoker Remote

If you have Replaced the Control Board or remote with a new one, you will need to re-sync your Masterbuilt Smoker Remote.

If you still have questions about sync your remote control, read on and we'll show you how to sync your replacement remote for a Gen I or Gen II Masterbuilt Digital Electric Smoker.

If you have a  Gen I Masterbuilt Digital Electric Smoker. To sync the remote, proceed as follows:

• Unplug your unit, wait about 10 seconds, plug the unit back in and then start the syncing process over.
• Turn controller and remote "ON"
• Press and hold "SET TEMP" on controller for 3 seconds (Hold it until you hear a beep)
• On the Remote press "MEAT PROBE, LIGHT, MEAT PROBE, LIGHT"

( All buttons must be pressed within 5 seconds of each other) A short beep will occur after each button press.)

TIP: if that does not work unplug smoker for 10 seconds to allow control panel to reset and try again.

If you have a Gen II Masterbuilt Digital Electric Smoker, you need to check the model number and operate the sync remote according to the model number. The best way to find out which model you have is look at the serial plate on the back of the unit.

If the serial plate on the back of the unit has a 04, then the method is going to be the exact same as we showed you on the Gen I Smoker.

If you have a 23 number on the back then it's going to be a little bit different. To sync the remote, proceed as follows:

• Turn controller and remote "OFF".
• Unit on the smoker press and hold the  "SET TEMP " button you'll hear a beep.
• On the Remote press "MEAT PROBE, LIGHT, MEAT PROBE, LIGHT"
• Hear a long beat at that point this unit is now synced properly.

Conclusion

Once the sync is done, we can test it by using all the functions. First I'm going to do the on/off function, and the unit should turn off turn it back on and it will come back on. We can check all the other functions the lights and things like that.
